"Every new day is another chance to change your life."

We all only get one life, so everybody should live theirs to the fullest. Make a difference for generations to come and help the Earth. Every little step is worth it.
SAVE A LIFE
Help out a person or an animal and maybe save a life! Donate to charities, don't scare wildlife you see outside, and follow the below tips to make the world a better place.
DO YOUR PART
From turning off the faucet while you're brushing your teeth to planting a tree in your yard, there are tons of things that you can do to make a difference. Here are some simple ideas...
Saving water:
-Turn off the faucet while you're brushing your teeth
-Take 5 minute showers
-Instead of washing your car in the driveway, take it to a car wash. Washing your car in the driveway will make the soap soak into the ground, most likely ending up in rivers and bays.
-If you're getting a new shower head or toilet anytime soon, think about installing a low-flow type. These don't use as much water as regular shower heads and toilets do.
-When you have a glass of water and you are finished with it, don't pour the extra water down the sink. Put it to a good use and use it to water a houseplant.
-Did you know that the storm drains on the sides of roads DON'T go to sewage treatment plants? What goes into those drains goes directly into the nearest stream or river. Don't dump anything down those that shouldn't be in a creek.
Saving energy:
-Turn out the lights when you leave a room.
-If you aren't watching it, turn off the TV.
-When you aren't using a computer, put it to "sleep" or shut it down to save power.
-Buy rechargeable batteries so that you can use them multiple times, and not have to dispose of lots of batteries.
-You can change your outdoor lights to solar lights. Solar lights use the sun's light energy to charge them up, and in the dark, they use that energy to light up.
-When buying appliances, look for the "Energy Star" label. This shows that the appliance does not use too much electricity.
Recycling:
-You can recycle plastics numbered 1-7. How can you find out the number that a plastic is? On the container, usually on the bottom, there is a little recycling sign with a number in the middle. That is the number you're looking for.
-What can you recycle? You can recycle CLEAN, DRY PLASTICS; PAPER; BOTTLES; ALUMINUM; CANS; AND MORE! For example, you cannot recycle a pizza box if it has a lot of grease on it. However, some recycling companies WILL take pizza boxes if they are fairly clean. Remember that it has to be dry.
-Do not recycle used tissues, paper towels, napkins, etc.
-Reduce, reuse, recycle! Reduce your amount of trash that you make. If you can reuse something--reuse it! If it can be recycled, recycle it!
INSPIRE
Everybody has the power to inspire others to help out the environment. Yes, that means everyone! Talk to other people about helping the world and show others that things CAN be done to save the Earth. If people won't listen, then you can show them. Most of the time, showing people that a difference can be made is more convincing than just telling them. Here are some ideas on how to inspire others...
-Give a speech to young children about the benefits of helping the world.
-Give a speech to adults about the benefits of helping the world.
-Talk to authorities in your community to see if you could organize a community clean-up, or a community plant-a-tree day.
-Start (or support) a recycling program at your workplace or school.
Remember that anyone can inspire others. Kids can make just as big of an impact as adults can! Remember: there's always strength in numbers. Get a group of friends, classmates, co-workers, neighbors--you name it! You'll be making a difference in no time.
